Saving content
Every way to get articles, papers, videos and notes into your library — from the browser, your phone, or the web app.
Your library is only as useful as what's in it. Save things the moment you find them — ReadingTrack takes care of the title, the reading estimate and the insights.
#What you can save
| Type | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Articles | Blog posts, news, essays, docs pages | Opens in the clean reader |
| Papers | arXiv, DOI links, research PDFs | Metadata found automatically. See PDFs & papers |

| Notes | Your own written notes | |
| AI articles & snippets | Explanations and code from Claude or ChatGPT | See AI assistants |
#From your browser
With the Chrome extension installed, you have three ways to save the page you're on:
- Toolbar: click the ReadingTrack icon → Save to ReadingTrack.
- Keyboard: Ctrl + Shift + Y (⌘ + Shift + Y on Mac).
- Right-click: Save page to ReadingTrack. This also works on a link, an image or a video without opening it first.
Saving through the extension also starts reading-time tracking for that page. Pages you haven't saved are never tracked.
#From your phone
- Tap Share
In Safari, Chrome, a news app, X, Reddit — anywhere with a share button.
- Choose ReadingTrack
On iPhone, pick Save to ReadingTrack. On Android, pick ReadingTrack. If you don't see it, scroll the app row and tap More to add it.
- Done
The read appears at the top of your library on every device.
You can also paste a link on the app's Add screen.
#From the web app
- Open your library
Go to Reading Library and choose Add a link.
- Paste the URL
Keep Use the page title automatically, or switch to Give this read a familiar name to type your own.
- Optionally add it to a list
Pick one or more reading lists, or create a new private list right there.
- Save
Choose Save to library.
On a phone browser you can also install the web app to your home screen; it then appears in the system share sheet as well.
#Bringing in an existing library
Moving from another app? Import your saves, tags and archive in one go from Pocket, Omnivore, Instapaper or Raindrop.io.
#Sites you never want saved
Add sites to Settings → Excluded websites. ReadingTrack will never save or track pages on them, even by accident. See Privacy controls.
