Import from Pocket
Move your Pocket saves, tags and archive into ReadingTrack.
Mozilla closed Pocket in 2025. If you downloaded your Pocket export before then, you can still import it — ReadingTrack accepts both export formats Pocket produced.
#Supported files
| File | Where it came from |
|---|---|
.zip containing part_000000.csv, part_000001.csv… | Pocket's newer CSV export |
ril_export.html | Pocket's older HTML export |
Upload the .zip as-is; you don't need to unzip it.
#Import
- Open the importer
In the web app, go to your Reading Library → Import from Pocket & more, or visit readingtrack.com/import.
- Choose Pocket and select your file
The file is read in your browser and is never uploaded. You'll see how many items were found.
- Start the import
Items are added in batches. Keep the tab open until it finishes — large libraries take a minute or two.
- Check your library
Imported items keep their original save dates, so they sit in the right place in your history.
#What carries over
- Links and titles.
- Tags become topics you can filter by.
- Archived items arrive with the Archived status.
- Save dates.
Pocket highlights, notes and article text aren't imported. ReadingTrack fetches a fresh copy when you open each item.
#Good to know
- Re-running is safe. If an item is already in your library, its tags are merged instead of creating a duplicate.
- Insights. Imported items get article insights only up to your remaining monthly allowance. The rest show Build article insights so you can run them when you get to them.
- Size. A library holds up to 20,000 items.
