Privacy controls
What ReadingTrack sees, what it never sees, and the settings that keep it that way.
#What ReadingTrack sees
- Pages you choose to save, and the time you spend reading them.
- Highlights, notes and takeaways you write.
- Content you ask an AI assistant to save.
- Files you import, parsed in your browser — only the items themselves are sent, never the file.
#What it never sees
- Your browsing history. The extension ignores every page you haven't saved and never imports history.
- PDFs you format with the Research Paper Formatter. They're processed entirely in your browser.
- Your AI chats. Claude and ChatGPT can only send what you explicitly ask them to save.
#Excluded websites
Go to Settings → Excluded websites and add any site you never want saved or tracked — your bank, email, or work tools. Exclusions apply to the extension and every other way of saving.
#Sharing is always opt-in
Everything you save is private. The only things anyone else can see are reading lists you've set to Unlisted or Public, and your curator profile if you've filled one in. See Sharing lists.
#Connected assistants
See and revoke AI-assistant access under Settings → Connected AI Assistants. Revoking takes effect immediately.
#Your data
- Export everything as JSON at any time.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
- Read the full privacy policy.
