Your first week with ReadingTrack
A day-by-day plan for turning scattered saves into a reading habit you can see.
ReadingTrack works best when it becomes the one place reading goes. This plan sets that up over a week, a few minutes at a time.
#Day 1 — Set up your capture points
- Install the extension and the app
Follow Chrome extension and iPhone & Android. Sign in with the same provider on both.
- Put ReadingTrack first in your share sheet
On your phone, open the share sheet, tap More, and drag ReadingTrack to the front.
- Exclude private sites
Add your bank, email and work tools under Settings → Excluded websites.
#Day 2 — Bring in your backlog
If you have saves in Pocket, Omnivore, Instapaper or Raindrop, import them. Then filter your library by Saved and pick three things you still genuinely want to read. Ignore the rest for now.
#Day 3 — Read one thing properly
- Skim the insights
Open one of your three picks and read its overview and key ideas. Still interested? Read it.
- Read in the reader
Choose Read here. Highlight two or three passages that make you stop.
- Write your takeaway
One sentence, in your own words. Turn on Worth remembering.
#Day 4 — Your first review
Open Review. Answer from memory before you reveal. Rate honestly — Forgot isn't failure, it just brings the idea back sooner. See Review.
#Day 5 — Make a list
Group a few related saves into a reading list — “This month”, “Career”, or a topic you're learning. Put them in the order you'll read them.
#Day 6 — Set your rhythm
Choose reminder times that match when you actually read, in Account → Notifications. Turn on the weekly recap under Settings → Your inbox, your choice.
#Day 7 — Look back
Open Insights. How much did you read? Which topics took your time? Is that what you want? Adjust next week's list accordingly.
Save everything, read one thing properly a day, and do your review. That's it.
