AI assistants (MCP)

Let Claude and ChatGPT save explanations, snippets and reading lists to your private library — only when you ask.

You learn a lot in AI chats, and most of it scrolls away. ReadingTrack's MCP server (Model Context Protocol) lets your assistant put the good parts into your library, where you can reread them, highlight them, and review them like anything else you've read.

#What you can ask for

Say something like…What happens
“Save this explanation to ReadingTrack.”The full answer is saved as a private AI article, with formatting and code preserved.
“Keep that code block as a snippet.”Saved as a Saved snippet.
“Make a reading list for learning Rust from these links.”A new private, ordered reading list.
“Add this article to my Distributed Systems list.”Appended to that list, without duplicates.
“What reading lists do I have?”The assistant lists your list names (never their contents' full text).

The assistant replies with a link that opens the saved item in the reader.

#Privacy and safety

  • Only what you ask for. The assistant can save content you supplied or explicitly asked it to save. It can't browse your library's article text.
  • Always private. Everything saved this way is private. These tools can never make a list public.
  • Scoped access. You approve exactly three permissions: save reads, view your list names, and edit your lists.
  • Revocable. Remove access any time in Settings → Connected AI Assistants → Revoke access.

#Other MCP clients

ReadingTrack currently supports Claude (including Claude Code) and ChatGPT. Other MCP clients, such as Cursor, can't connect yet because each client must be registered with ReadingTrack first. If you'd like one added, let us know.

Building something? See the MCP server reference.
