Claude
Connect ReadingTrack to Claude so you can save explanations and build reading lists from any conversation.
Add ReadingTrack from Claude's connector directory, or as a custom connector by URL. Once connected, it works in every chat on claude.ai and the Claude desktop and mobile apps.
#What you need
- A ReadingTrack account. It's free, and it's created the first time you sign in with Google or GitHub.
- A Claude plan that can use connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to allow ReadingTrack first.
#Connect
- Open connectors
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Search the directory for ReadingTrack, or choose Add custom connector.
- For a custom connector, enter ReadingTrack's details
Name:
ReadingTrackRemote MCP server URL:
https://www.readingtrack.com/api/mcpLeave the OAuth settings at their default (Claude's published identity). You don't need a client ID or secret.
- Connect and sign in
Choose Connect. A ReadingTrack sign-in page opens — sign in with the provider you use for ReadingTrack and approve the permissions.
- Turn it on in a chat
In a conversation, open the tools menu and make sure ReadingTrack is enabled.
Menu names in Claude can vary by plan and app version. Anthropic's guide to custom connectors has the latest steps.
#Try it
- “Explain how Raft leader election works, then save the explanation to ReadingTrack.”
- “Save that last code block to ReadingTrack as a snippet called retry with jitter.”
- “Make a ReadingTrack list called Intro to databases from the links in this message, in this order: …”
Claude asks before calling a tool the first time. Approve it, and Claude replies with a link to the saved item.
#Tools
| Tool | What it does | Access |

get_reading_lists | Shows your list names, so Claude can pick one. No article text is read. | Read |
None of these tools can delete, publish or share anything. Everything you save stays private to your account. See the privacy policy for what's stored and for how long.
#Troubleshooting
- Sign-in fails or loops. Sign in with the same provider you used to create your ReadingTrack account. Another provider opens a separate, empty library.
- "Authorization failed" after changing settings. Remove the connector in Claude and add it again. Claude doesn't let you change sign-in settings on an existing connector.
- Something else. Contact us from the support page with what you asked Claude and what happened.
#Disconnect
Remove the connector in Claude's settings, and revoke access in ReadingTrack under Settings → Connected AI Assistants.
